General Terms of Use and Sale
The Majlis app: learning Arabic. Last updated: 20 October 2026. Version française
In short: on iPhone, Majlis comes with 14 days of free full access, with no bank card, starting when you finish your first lesson (at the latest a week after you install the app). After that, the app remains usable as a demo version: it never shuts down. A subscription or a one-time purchase reopens all of the content. Payments are collected by the App Store, never by us. In a browser, Majlis is a free demo: no purchase is offered there.
1. Publisher
Majlis is published by an independent developer.

2. Purpose
These terms govern the use of the Majlis app, offered on iPhone and in a browser (as a demo), as well as the sale of the paid access offered in the iPhone app. An Android version is planned; it is not available yet. Installing or using the app means you accept these terms.
3. Access to the app
Majlis works without you having to create an account. An optional account (email address and password) lets you keep your progress, and your paid access, across several devices.
- 14 days of free full access (iPhone app): all of the content is open for 14 days from the day you finish your first lesson, and at the latest 7 days after you first open the app, even if you have not finished any lesson. No payment method is requested and nothing is triggered automatically at the end. If you had already finished a lesson with a version of the app released before this rule, your 14 days keep their original starting point, the day you first opened the app.
- Demo version: after that period, the app remains usable free of charge and without time limit. What stays open: the 12 lessons to learn to read and the transition lesson (Start from zero), the 23 Fusha A1 lessons, the first of the 17 Khaleeji lessons once you can read the alphabet, the alphabet and its practice, the full placement test, 24 vocabulary topics (661 words), your reviews, your streak and your mistakes notebook. Your progress is kept.
- Full access: a subscription or a one-time purchase opens everything else: 57 more Fusha lessons (A2 to B2), 16 of the 17 lessons of the Khaleeji path, the branching conversations and the whole vocabulary bank (2,292 words, 83 topics).
- In a browser: until 22 October 2026 inclusive, as promised to browser players, all of the content is open in a browser; from 23 October 2026, the web version is a free demo, with no time limit, with the same content as the demo version above. No purchase is made there: the “Continue on iPhone” button opens the app's page on the App Store.
4. Plans and prices
| Plan | Price | Nature |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | €7.99 | Auto-renewing subscription, every month |
| Yearly | €39.99 | Auto-renewing subscription, every year |
| Lifetime | €99.99 | One-time purchase, no renewal: all of Majlis, now and to come |
| Lifetime, “Trailblazer” launch offer | €59.99 | One-time purchase, no renewal, during the launch offer only (see below) |
The price that prevails is the one shown by the App Store in the app, in your currency and including all taxes. The amounts above are those of the euro area.
“Trailblazer” launch offer. During the launch offer, lifetime access is at €59.99; after that, it is at €99.99. The offer lasts at least two months from the release of Majlis on the App Store; its end date is shown in the app. It is no longer offered afterwards.
It gives exactly the same access as lifetime access, plus the “Trailblazer” title in the profile. This title is reserved for this offer: subscriptions and lifetime access at €99.99 do not give it. While it is open, the offer replaces lifetime access in the app.
5. Payment, renewal and cancellation
Purchases are made and collected by Apple's App Store, and charged to your Apple account. We neither receive nor keep any banking data.
A subscription renews automatically when it expires, at the rate in force, unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Cancelling is done from the App Store, never from the app: on iPhone, Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Majlis → Cancel Subscription. Deleting your Majlis account does not cancel a subscription.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid: full access stays open until then, then the app returns to the demo version. No data is lost: progress, streak and achievements are kept and become fully accessible again if you take up access again.
6. Right of withdrawal
Paid access is digital content supplied immediately after purchase. By subscribing to it, you expressly request its immediate performance and you waive your right of withdrawal, in accordance with article L. 221-28 of the French Consumer Code.
Refund requests are a matter for Apple, which collected the payment, and its own policy: they are made to Apple, which handles them directly. A refund granted closes full access again, without deleting your progress.
7. Restoring a purchase
On a new iPhone, or after a reinstall, access is recovered with the Restore a purchase button of the subscription panel, provided you use the same Apple account as at the time of purchase. If your purchase is linked to your Majlis account, signing in to that account on the new device is enough too.
8. What you can expect from the app
Majlis is a learning tool. We do everything we can to make its content accurate and educationally sound, but no method can guarantee a result: progress depends on the work put in. No level, diploma or certification is issued.
The content evolves: lessons, words and features are added regularly. A current subscription gives access to the additions published during its term. Lifetime access gives access to all of Majlis, now and in the future: the current content and the content that will be added.
9. Reasonable use
You agree not to decompile the app, not to extract its content in bulk, not to bypass the access limits and not to resell or redistribute the lessons, the audio recordings or the vocabulary bank. In case of serious breach, access may be suspended.
10. Intellectual property
The lesson texts, the dialogues, the vocabulary bank, the audio recordings, the interface and the visual identity of Majlis are protected. Your access gives you a personal, non-exclusive right of use; it does not transfer any ownership right to you.
11. Availability
The app works offline for most of its content. Syncing progress and checking subscriptions require a connection. An unavailable third-party service does not close your access: the last known state is kept on the device.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability and may suspend the service for maintenance. The app may be discontinued permanently with prior notice; in that case, current subscriptions are no longer renewed.
12. Liability
Our liability cannot be engaged beyond the sums you have actually paid for paid access over the last twelve months. Nothing in these terms limits the rights that the law grants to consumers, notably the legal guarantee of conformity.
13. Personal data
The processing of your data is described in our privacy policy. Deleting your account and your data is done directly in the app, Profile tab.
14. Changes to the terms
These terms may change. Any change is published on this page with an updated date. Before any price increase of a current subscription, the App Store informs you in advance, according to its own rules, and you can cancel before it applies.
15. Applicable law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. In case of difficulty, write to us first: most situations are settled in a few messages. Failing an amicable agreement, you may use a consumer mediator free of charge before any court action. The French courts have jurisdiction, without prejudice to the protective rules applicable to the consumer.
